We Believe in Clear Answers

Clinical research comes with a lot of questions. Here are straightforward answers to the ones we hear most often. If yours isn't here, reach out — we're happy to help.

Everything You Need to Know

What exactly does Clariva Medical do?
Clariva Medical is a research support and participant coordination service. We help connect individuals who are interested in clinical research with active study opportunities nationwide. We collect your basic information, assess potential matches based on study criteria, and coordinate initial outreach with licensed study sites. We are not a hospital, clinic, or medical practice, and we do not provide medical advice or make eligibility decisions on behalf of investigators.
Is there any cost to participate?
No. Submitting your information through Clariva Medical is completely free. Most clinical research studies also do not charge participants for study-related procedures or visits. Some studies offer compensation for time and travel. Any costs or compensation details associated with a specific study will be communicated by the study team before you make any decisions.
Am I required to participate if I submit my information?
Absolutely not. Submitting your eligibility form with Clariva Medical creates no obligation whatsoever. You are free to decline follow-up, ask questions before committing, or simply change your mind at any point. Participation in any study is always 100% voluntary, and withdrawing at any stage carries no consequences of any kind.
How do I know if I qualify for a study?
Every study has its own specific eligibility criteria set by the sponsoring institution and investigators. After you submit your intake form, our team reviews your profile against current study requirements. If we identify a potential match, we'll reach out to discuss next steps, including a brief screening conversation with the study site. Ultimately, the study team — not Clariva Medical — determines final eligibility.
What happens after I submit the form?
Our coordination team reviews your submission, typically within one business day. If there's a potential study match based on your profile and location, a team member will follow up via the contact method you provided. If there is no current match, we will keep your information on file and may contact you if a relevant study becomes available — unless you ask us not to.
How is my personal information protected?
Your privacy matters deeply to us. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third-party marketers or advertisers. Your data is used only to coordinate your inquiry and communicate with you according to your stated preferences. For full details on how we collect, store, and use your information, please review our Privacy Policy.
Can I opt out of SMS or email communications?
Yes, at any time. To stop receiving text messages, simply reply STOP to any message from us. To stop email communications, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us directly at trials@clarivamed.com. Opting out of communications does not affect any active study participation — that is handled separately through the study site.
What are the risks of participating in a clinical study?
All clinical research involves some level of risk, which varies widely by study type. Before enrolling in any study, the research team is required by law to walk you through a formal informed consent process that clearly explains all known risks, potential benefits, procedures, and your rights as a participant. You should never feel rushed or pressured during this process, and you may ask as many questions as you need before making a decision.
Do I need a doctor's referral to get started?
No referral is needed to submit your eligibility form with Clariva Medical. Simply complete the intake form and we'll take it from there. If a study match is identified, the study site will conduct their own intake process, which may involve a review of your medical history — but that is coordinated between you and the research team directly.
Are healthy people eligible for any studies?
Yes. Some studies specifically require participants who are in general good health and have no active diagnoses. These "healthy volunteer" studies play an important role in research by helping investigators establish safe baselines and measure the effects of new treatments against a healthy population. If you're interested in this type of participation, select "Healthy Volunteer" on the eligibility form.
